This year’s Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival will feature the autobiographical documentary, Silent Beauty, directed by Jasmin Mara López.

In this stunning and poetic autobiographical documentary, director Jasmin Mara López explores generations of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her grandfather, a Baptist minister. Seeing a photo of her niece with the man plunges her into memories of abuse, and so she defies the culture of silence in her family only to discover generational trauma. Generously allowing viewers along on this personal, cinematic journey, López bravely reveals a beautiful grace in the process of healing.
